The IBM 2498-B80 is a high-performance, stackable Fibre Channel switch designed for small and medium-sized SANs (storage area networks). It provides 80 ports of 8 Gbps performance for enterprise SAN switches along with redundant, hot-pluggable components and non-disruptive serviceability. The switch has a 2U form factor and is compact and easy to install. It is also very energy efficient, consuming only 1,000 watts at full load.
